On Saturday April 20th, 2007, Syracuse mayor, Matthew J. Driscoll was awarded the Toastmasters International Communications and Leadership Award. The Award was presented at the noon luncheon at the Holiday Inn on Carrier Circle, Syracuse, during the Toastmasters International District 65 Spring Conference.
Mayor Driscoll, one of about 70 leaders around the world to receive the award this year, was honored with the award for his work in reforming city government, reducing taxes, and improving community services. The award is given to a nontoastmaster who has demonstrated excellent leadership and communications skills.
Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational association that has helped more than 4 million people through its communication and leadership program.
